Frequently Asked Questions

How soon should I place my order?
We recommend allowing a minimum of 8-10 weeks before your required date. This allows plenty of time should you need to exchange for another size or have any alterations carried out. We can supply faster than this, but in our experience it can be quite stressful for you if you are still waiting for your dresses in the week or two leading up to your big day.
I’ve found a dress I love but I don’t need it yet, what if it is discontinued or I lose the link to your website?
If you would like us to alert you about changes to availability, please use the form above and we will alert you if we are notified of a discontinuation or delay so you can avoid disappointment. We will also use these details to send you a reminder when it is time to order your dress.
 
How do I know what size to order?
To assist you in ordering the correct size, we have included a size chart with each style.  If your measurements fall between two sizes, we suggest that you choose the larger size and have your own seamstress alter it according to your specific body measurements. Alternatively, please feel free to email your measurements to us at sales@1-special-day.co.uk and we will be happy to advise you as to the best size.
Can I order by phone?
If you would like to order by phone, please call us on 0845 009 1787 from 5pm to 7pm Monday to Friday*.  At all other times, please e-mail us with your name, phone number and details of what you would like to order and we will contact you as soon as possible.  As a specialist small internet retailer during the months of March, April and May we are not always able to deal with telephone orders as this enables us to prioritise our resources which is critical in getting customer internet orders processed and despatched as quickly as possible.  Internet orders will always take priority over telephone orders.
 
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept a wide range of convenient payment options, including credit and debit cards and Paypal. We use a secure online system for processing all online transactions and details are not stored.
 
When do I need to pay for my order?
As the dresses are ordered especially for you, full payment is required when placing the order.
Can you send me a colour swatch/sample?
As we are not the manufacturer of these items, we are unable to provide swatches/samples.
Can you make the dress different sizes or colours?
As we are not the manufacturer of these items, we are unable to alter the sizes from those on the charts or the colours from the range available. 
Do you have a shop where I can try the dresses on?
To keep our costs to a minimum, we operate online only so do not have shop premises you can visit.
Do you have a paper catalogue that you can send me?
All our range is shown on our website and changes all the time, so we do not produce a paper catalogue.
How Do I Shop Online?
Please feel free to browse our products at your leisure by using the products menu. Once you have found a product that you like, please select the size and quantity required, and, where applicable, the colour required. Once you have finished, you will then receive a confirmation of your order via email.
What Happens When I Place An Order Online?
Once you have completed your purchase, you will receive an email confirming your order. Delivery is within the timescales stated in the description of each item.  There is a limited selection of dresses that are available for immediate despatch, if you have an urgent requirement, please contact us first to check availability.
